One of the greatest pleasures of giving and attending concerts is is arriving at the hall, historic church, monument, or venue, or simply traveling to a new acoustic world and hearing the sound of music in a special place. During this period of reduced travel, cellist Elinor Frey has put together a series of 6 concerts for which she performs Bach cello suites, Bach violin partitas (on cello!), and short Italian pieces and during each 10-minute “intermission” Frey offer viewers an original video celebrating a beautiful historic space. Each concert, Frey interviews a guest artist describing one historic place special to them. These include the Teatro Thalia in Lisbon, Portugal, the Accademia Filarmonica of Verona, Italy, the 19th century “Théâtrophone”, the Antiguo Colegio de Ildebrando in Mexico City, the Saruhan Caravanserai in Cappadocia, Turkey, and Lady Margaret Hall in Oxford, England.
